About the Item

Beautiful and slender design pair of Arts & Crafts nightstands. If you are looking for aesthetically pleasing and practical to use bedside cabinets to grace your bedroom then this Arts & Crafts pair could be ideal. This early 20th century pair is practical in size, beautiful and rare in design and the brass elements too are a joy to look at. All handcrafted over one hundred years ago this finest quality pair is predominantly made of a walnut veneer on oak and pine and both cabinets are as strong and stabile as the day they left the artisan's studio. On top and beautifully complementing the design and color of these cabinets are two beveled glass panels with black paper underneath. Apart from a superficial scratch and a few minor chips these original glass panels too are in very good condition. For the two mint drawers we have found antique keys that will lock and unlock them. For the two stunning doors we have had new brass keys made and (as you can see in our photos) they perfectly match the beautiful antique brass lock plates. What makes these rare cabinets typically European Arts and Crafts, are the symmetrical and aesthetically remarkable patterns in relief. By using two tones of nutwood the designer and maker have managed to create an extra depth that makes these cabinets even more attractive and appealing.
