Chicago Coin's Mechanical "Band Box" Automated Orchestra

The Band Box, a mini orchestra in a cabinet, was developed to help bar owners collect more jukebox revenue. The cabinet hung on the wall, lights out and curtains closed. As soon as a song was played on the jukebox, the curtains opened, lights came on, and the band swung and bobbed to the beat of the music. When the song ended, the unit shut down, and one would have to keep feeding the jukebox to enjoy the "band". There is also a speaker on the underside, to add a fuller sound to the room. These are quite rare and desirable today, and ours is in great restored condition. It can be hung on a wall as intended, or placed on a platform, as shown here. The Band Box is the ultimate statement for any bar, music or entertainment room.
