Georgian 18th Century Childs High Chair
About the Item
A Charming Late 18th Century Georgian, Mahogany, Hepplewhite Period Childs High Chairs, Having Camel Back With Elegant Pierced Splat, Scrolling Arms, Removable Safety Bar And Adjustable Foot Rest Over Detachable Mahogany Table Stand Raised On Square Legs.
This remarkable little 18th century childs high chair, which also doubles as a childs chair and table is of ingenious design, which as mentioned allows one to separate it apart and use as a relatively standard height low childs chair with a table that is exactly the right height for it to be pulled up to, or alternatively with the chair on top of and attached to the table it allows it to be used as a proper high chair with safety bar.
Overall the quality is very good, constructed from rich mahogany timbers and bearing in mind the amount of use which it will have had over the years it remains in exceptional good condition. The fabric to the seat has been relatively recently refreshed, but should it not suit one could have it very easily changed again at very low expense.
As with all items which we offer for sale this beautiful antique childs high chair has been inspected and attended to in our workshops by our highly skilled, traditional antique furniture restorers to ensure that it is in the best condition possible before being offered for sale. Therefore it is certainly ready to be placed immediately into the home.
