French Art Deco Wood and Chrome Airplane SeaPlane Aviation Model, 1940s
About the Item
A fantastic French Art Deco chrome and wood airplane/seaplane model mounted on a stylized wood plinth. A superbly crafted rendering of the legendary quadri-propellers seaplane, strikingly evocative of a golden age in air travel. This handsome 1940s desk or counter model airplane is made of varnish wood and chromed metal wings and tail, with exterior chrome detailing, and four propellers on the wings. Standing on a geometric solid wood block with a metal arm. It has a tag that says: "The Phiphi" on a brass plaque. No other visible maker's mark. Great desk accessory for aviation collectors and lovers.
