About the Item

A interesting and comical miniature hand penned riddles notebook, by a J.A. Soames Sept 27. 1869 Retaining its original patterend orange paper cover, 32 pages in total with 29 pages penned with riddles and anecdotes. “when is a door not a door?, when its a jar’” “why are you like a hinge? because you are something to adore” "why is a man like a green gooseberry? because any woman can make him into a fool" Condition is good, commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound. Some minor damage to first few leaves, staining and toning throughout. Measures 9cm x 6cm
