Arne Jacobsen by Tobias Faber (Book)
About the Item
Arne Jacobsen is today probably best remembered for his chair and furniture designs but he was primarily an architect and that had been his training. This book deals mainly with the architectural side of his career but it is impossible not to mention his furniture designs and there are various designs shown towards the end of the book. He was undoubtedly a modernist in his design and use of materials and was not always appreciated and understood. He did as his career progressed gain many large commissions probably the two most important being the SAS Hotel and St Catherines College in Oxford - both of which projects allowed him to design everything including the furniture and fittings. Text is in English and German, all illustrations are in black and white, 175 pages.
