Babbitt, by Sinclair Lewis, Published: New York, Harcourt Brace and Company, Inc. 1922 First edition 2nd issue, retaining its scarce dust jacket, all in very good condition. An attractive copy of this important novel which examines the conformity of the middle class lifestyle as told using George Babbitt's life as a metaphor. The book was set in America in the 1920's when socialism was on the rise both here and in Europe. Lewis won the nobel prize for literature in 1930. An attractive copy of an important work. The second issue of the first edition corrected an error on page 49 line 4. Dust jacket wrapped in mylar.
