In The Houses of Ireland, First Edition

About the Item

In The Houses of Ireland by Walter Pfeiffer and Marianne Heron. New York: Stewart, Tabori and Chang, Inc., 1988. First edition hardcover with dust jacket. 254 pp. A beautiful chronicle of Irish decorating style that illustrates the wide variety of Irish homes and personalities. It includes Lambay Castle with its Arts and Crafts style, a Georgian townhouse under renovation, a tiny Glebe house owned by an artist and the splendor of Castleton COX home of the Baron and Baroness de Breffny. Because of Ireland's isolation, Ireland's style evolved without plan, allowing rich layers of the past to remain. NPT Books, a division of N.P. Trent Antiques, has a large collection of used and out of print books on art, architecture, decoration and antiques with a focus on 1st editions, signed and limited editions.
