A first edition 10 volume folio set of Picturesque California and the Region West of the Rocky Mountains edited by John Muir, the famous American author and naturalist printed in 1888 by the J.Dewing publishing company. This set includes over 600 examples of the artwork by numerous well-known California artists including William Keith, Frederick Remington, Thomas Moran, Julian Rix, Thomas Hill and many more. The work includes etchings, photogravures and wood engravings. In addition to California, the work covers most of the western states, Mexico and Alaska. A grand set of books with wonderful artwork and interesting test.
