A 17th century book. Pg vellum cover, parchment paper pages written in Latin. Includes an attached handwritten note stamped describing the book with a date of 1667. That note is also stamped and dated 1903.
CREATOR Unknown. Possibly Italy.
DATE OF MANUFACTURE Pub.1667.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Pig Vellum, Paper.
CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Spine is not cracked. There is so separation between the spin and pages but the pages are all secure. Damage to cover corners.

Vellum is prepared animal skin or membrane, typically used as writing material. It is often distinguished from parchment, either by being made from calfskin (rather than the skin of other animals), or simply by being of a higher quality.
