About the Item
Published in 1973, this book offers in five chapters a review of new chairs, settees and beds, tables, office furniture, cabinets and shelves as well as nursery furniture. The photographs within the book were chosen to show the factual use and design of the pieces, advertising photographs were avoided. There is a short introductory text prefacing each group which analyzes the variety of materials used. The introduction to the book deals with the function of series furniture in society and offers opinions on many aspects of the furniture industry at that time. Finally there is a detailed index listing manufacturers, designers and photographers. This is an ex library book with all the usual markings and stamps.
