Revolt in the Desert by T.E. Lawrence, Published Jonathan Cape, Thirty Bedford Square, London, 1927 First English edition rebound in 3/4 brown leather with marbled boards, gilt-tooled spine with five raised bands and embossed decoration in very good condition. Handsome volume, illustrated. A second cloth covered volume of the same book, first American edition, published in 1927. This copy includes inserted contemporary newspaper articles about the author and his fatal motorcycle accident. Inscribed by former owner. Revolt in the Desert is a condensed version of Lawrence's earlier work "Seven Pillars of Wisdom" and focuses on the author's experiences during the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire during WWI. Made into a fabulous film starring Peter O'Toole.
