The Secret History by Donna Tartt First Edition, Signed

About the Item

Among the most iconic and best-selling novels of the 1990s, American author, Diana Tartt's first novel is set at an elite liberal arts college in Vermont (Think: Bennington) and established Tartt as one of the most critically-acclaimed prose stylists of her generation. This fine copy is complete, including the original acetate cover, a brilliantly original detail by the Knopf designers Chip Kidd and Barbara de Wilde. Prior to publication, the book was the subject of nearly unprecedented industry buzz, so instead of the typical order of 10,000-20,000 copies, the publisher ordered 75,000 copies. Tartt's other novels, The Little Friend and The Goldfinch were also massive international bestsellers. Signed by the author on the title page, this copy has never been read and remains in excellent condition.

  • Pair Folk Art Paintings on Wood Panel, 1980s, by Moses Tolliver "MoseT"
    Located in Southbury, CT
My uncle Bob was a country lawyer in rural Alabama and Moses Tolliver was one of his friends and clients. The pair of original paintings you see here were given to my uncle by Mr. Tolliver in exchange for legal services in the 1980s. Both the human figure and the snake were painted on scrap wood paneling and each has an aluminum beer pull-tab on the back for hanging. The works have been framed so the pull tab is not visible; if you prefer, simply remove the frames and both pieces will be as created. The snake painting...
