Sulphides The Art of Cameo Incrustation by Paul Jokelson. New York: Thomas Nelson & Sons, 1968. Limited Edition, 182/1000, signed. Hardcover with slipcase. Black pebbled leather with silver lettering on spine, housed in Wedgwood blue slipcase with color cameo illustration. 159 pp. 108 color and b/w illustrations. Extensive history of the production, using sulphides, of cameos on glass. Included are paperweights (Jokelson was known for his collection), pitchers, glass medals, flasks, tumblers, plaques, and more. Many of the pieces are by Baccarat. The art was fully developed by a French manufacturer in 1750 who succeeded in incrusting medallions of Napoleon. These incrustations are usually related to historical events and famous people making them highly collectable. NPT Books, a division of N.P.
