Presented in original linen boards with matching 1/4 leather and linen clamshell. This is a highly collected limited edition of A Treasure of Reels, compiled by Jim Brown and numbered 81/100. The book has been individually numbered and signed Jim Brown on the edition page. The book features photographs by Bob O’Shaughnessy, with numerous reproductions of historic illustrations, and a tipped-in four-color process print frontispiece of an angling painting by John Swan titled "New Moon." The book offers an illustrated description of the evolution of the fly fishing reel, based upon the entire catalog of reels in the American Museum of Fly Fishing. Each entry includes the name, manufacturer, model number, dimensions, weight, manufacturing materials, color, design features, engravings and other markings, provenance, descriptive notes, and museum accession number. This book was published in 1990. Condition: In very good condition. Bound in original linen with matching 1/4 orange leather and linen clamshell box. Gilt titles to spine of clamshell.
