Anglo Indian Fine Large Silver Embossed Deity Oval Locket Dated 1880

About the Item

A very fine and large antique Anglo-Indian silver oval shaped locket heavily embossed with three figures dated September 1880. The large hinged locket has an internal recessed compartment with an ornate hanging loop embossed in relief with a figure. The body of the locket is relief embossed with three figures believed to be Rama seated under a tree with his brother Lakshman and Hanuman (half monkey, half man) standing at either side. The locket is engraved with large initials EF and is inscribed SEPTEMBER 1880 along the lower edge. The locket is not otherwise marked. In good condition.
