Antique Sterling Silver 935 Grade Swiss, 19th Century Small Pocket Watch

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely small continental sterling silver 935 grade Swiss small pocket watch A lovely thing, three times stamped with the standing bear for Swiss made 935 grade silver, the dial is all solid silver, beautifully engraved and detailed with gold gilt lettering. The back is also fully engraved and finished with the shield plaque ready for initials to be engraved Push the top depression button and the first part of the backing case opens to reveal the hallmarked plates and winding and setting dials, open the second plate and you have a stunning movement, all in gold, I’m unsure of the metal, held in place with blue anodized screws, a real work of art In terms of the functionality of the piece I don’t really have the right keys but I have wound it up and it went for a while, I didn’t check it or anything so it may need a service but hand on heart it is running The minute hand had fallen off so I removed the hour hand and plate to have a look under, there was one small wheel which I took out otherwise everything is set inside another silver plate, I put everything back nice and carefully Given the size this would make a lovely wrist watch conversion Height 5.4 cm including loop Width 3.8 cm Depth 1.2 cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
