Very elegant Compact in black and gold lacquered gilt metal. Art Deco period. Golden border around the edge Golden interior. Winged dragon motifs in the center and geometric shapes. Beautiful symmetry of the typical Art Deco pattern. It contains a Mirror and its original Puff. Stamped "Graziella France" around the mirror and "Graziella France Deposed" at the bottom of the powder compartment. The compact has an ideal size to be carried in a pocket or a handbag. Its elegant pattern and colors will make it a magnificent decorative object on a dressing table. Graziella comes from Latin and means grace, charm. 1925 Silver Austrian Charivari or Watch Chain Necklace with Hunting Charm Fobs
Located in Haarlem, NL
Late 19th-early 20th century silver Austrian charivari or watch chain necklace with Hunting charm fobs. Lovely piece of historic Austrian folkloristic jewellery, a real collector’s item this is. A charivari is a piece of traditional Bavarian costume jewellery; this one is made of solid silver. Bavarian men wear the charivari on the belt of their Lederhosen, women wear them as an apron tie or bodice closure. This piece is quite heavy and sturdy. The size of its shackles and the chain length tells me this actually is a men’s charivari. It traditionally served as jewellery or as a talisman for a successful hunt. The charivari originated from a watch chain, which was attached to the buttonhole of the costume shirt and was hung with various hunting trophies. It could not be bought, was carefully preserved and was passed down in a single family through the generations. This one is adorned with rare trinkets; a 1912 coin of the Austrian-Hungarian Emperor a silver male Dachshund charm a set of deer teeth in silver (aka Grandel or Gradln) a silver staggering horse fob...

Art Deco 1928 Ladies Compact by Richard Hudnut
Located in Devon, England
For your consideration is this excellent condition Art Deco ladies combination compact dating to 1928. This is a classic Art Deco Richard Hudnut Le Debut Cloisonné Powder, Rouge and Mirror Compact and is an absolute delight in every aspect and genuinely has appears never to have been used. This compact features a black enamel lid with cream dotted accents; the back of the compact has a spider web machine-tooled finish to accent the octagonal shape of the compact. The case opens to a rouge compartment with a mirror in the lid that is behind a gold toned Art Deco decorated cover. The loose powder compartment is in the lower section of the compact; and it has a hinged and latched recessed door to hold a puff. This feature was a later addition to the initial solid powder product release of 1924 and has the patent date stamped on the underside of the hinged door reflecting an issue date of 1928. The original rouge is in untouched condition and still shows the embossed name Le Debut while the loose powder well is empty. Inside it is hallmarked "Le Debut", "Richard Hudnut" on the Art Deco mirror frame...
