Early Jaques Chess Set and Sliding Lid Box

About the Item

An excellent example of an early unweighted Staunton Chess Set. The king stamped Jaques London on the base. Housed in original slide lid box with Paper Label Inscribed The Staunton Chessmen, Two Prize Medals Awarded 1862 Jaques and Son London. Also comes with booklet The ABC of Chess by a Lady. Excellant condition no chips or breaks with one minor exception to the cross finial on the black king please see photos. Kings measure 3"
