About the Item

19th-century Bohemian Persian Enameled Portrait of Decanter Naser al-Din Shah Qajar This exquisite 19th-century Bohemian Persian decanter features a vibrant enameled portrait of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar,  ناصرالدین‌شاه قاجار, the fourth Shah of Qajar, Iran, who reigned from 1848 until his assassination in 1896. Standing 18 inches high and 6 inches in diameter, this clear-cut glass decanter is adorned with colorful enamel and jeweled accents, highlighting the regal image of the Shah. The cut, gilt, and enameled stopper measures 8 inches in length, while the decanter without the stopper stands at 12 inches high. Despite some cloudiness to the interior and minor signs of wear and loss to the jeweled areas, the decanter remains structurally sound and is a testament to the craftsmanship of the period. This remarkable piece is not only a functional vessel but also a striking historical artifact that captures the opulence and artistic excellence of 19th-century Bohemian Persian design. It makes an impressive addition to any collection, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage and artistic achievements of the era.
