Early 20th Century French Hand-Crafted Pine Processional Merit Pole
An unusual hand-crafted example of an early 20th century French school processional marching pole. With painted text detail included the date 1924. This item would have been held at the front of a marching brand parade by the top boy or girl of a local school. A nice example that resembles an antique barber’s pole.

Material: Pine
Condition: Aged
Completely solid in structure and form, with aged surfaces and faded paint. The pine wood shows old long gone worm holes, the paint has flaked off from most of the surfaces as shown. A light surface crack in the centre of the pole but this is only on the surface and doesn’t affect the structure in anyway. This item doesn’t stand up alone as photographed.
