Italian Mid-19th Century Folio Case of a Large Variety of Specimen Artifacts

About the Item

A sensational and most unique Italian mid 19th-century folio case of a large variety of specimen marble and semi-precious stones. The case is raised by solid walnut bun feet while the case has a bombée shaped front and concave sides. Lifting up the hinged top reveals all of the different stones fitted within a walnut border. The edge of the interior and the top have a richly detailed mottled design. Wonderful and rich patinated walnut finish throughout. Closed Height 3.5".
