About the Item
This shawl cape was produced for the Russian market, for someone of the highest rank, likely a member of the Imperial Tsar's family.
The haute couture fur features six ermine heads with glass eyes, mounted on ornate white silk crochet diamonds with thick silk tassels.
The lining is a rich, thick, dark gold silk satin still soft and supple. The gold oval maker's label is seen near the neckline.
The cape closes with four brass hook and eye clasps.
Formal Ermine capes, such as this , were used in Russia for ceremonial occasions.
