About the Item
This exceptionally fine quality piece of English miniature cabinet making is a real gem dating to 1907 and fully signed and dated in the top draw in pencil, A F Lloyd, Bideford 1907.
This fine piece has been accurately made to scale copying a very fine 18th century serpentine chest of drawers.
The carcase and drawers are all made of mahogany and the exterior is beautifully veneered.
The chest stands on canted bracket feet with vertical tulipwood banding.
The canted corner and inlay follow through the chest where there are four graduated drawers all fully lined in mahogany with neat finely cut dovetails. Each drawer is finished with handmade square ebony knobs.
The sides have large oval centre panels in burr satinwood with quarter veneers fields with banding around the edge separated with boxwood stringing.
This is the finest piece of English miniature furniture we have ever had the pleasure of offering for sale.
A truly superb piece of English miniature furniture which would be a highlight of most collections.
