Probably southwest German or Strasbourg/Alsace, around 1780 Very high quality and elaborately worked miniature furniture for storing letters or other personal valuables, inlaid with a portrait medallion on the drawer and a bouquet of flowers on the flap. Veneer in amaranth, rosewood and maple, partly coloured and engraved.
