This piece is one of many unique items that were collected over a period of decades. Mind you, each hair and each line of shade that you see on the face of Jesus and his disciple is hand-embroidered. It is most likely that this extremely time consuming and rare quality piece was made by a highly skilled nun, in early 20th century Europe. We think either in Holland, Belgium or France. The cloth on the back was obviously put there to prevent the original back from fraying, thus protecting this church...
