Dulcephone horn gramophone c. 1910. Wooden horn, large, magnificent phonograph
About the Item
Dulcephone horn gramophone, c. 1910.
Superb grand scale, stunning wooden horn.
This is a stunning early 20th Century horn gramophone in outstanding original condition, working perfectly and sounding excellent.
Magnificent large wooden horn.
Dulcephone ‘The Crescendo’ sondbox.
Original ‘Dulcephpone’ labelled massive double-spring motor.
This gramophone has clearly been cherished and superbly maintained.
It is fully functioning and is noted as having been serviced (oiled) in 2000. The motor runs smoothly without noise, vibration or slipping.
The wonderful wooden horn has no notable damage and fits firmly into position with any notable movement.
This gramophone is on a very large scale – see end photo for comparison to a ‘normal’ size horn gramophone and an HMV portable gramophone.
Dulcephone played a historically important role in the development of the gramophone, being intrinsically linked to Decca. This outstanding example is truly museum-quality.
