Crafted from an extraordinary 450 ounces of solid sterling silver and richly gilded in 24K gold, this monumental gramophone stands as a singular achievement in luxury craftsmanship. Created by Garrard & Co., Crown Jewelers to the British monarchy for 164 years, this music player displays a sweeping silver horn, intricate gilt mounts and concealed compartments within a finely finished wooden base. Functional as well as sculptural, it exemplifies the union of technical ingenuity and regal opulence.
Every aspect of this five-foot-high marvel reveals exquisite artistry, all rendered in precious metal. The gramophone remains fully functional and includes its original records, preserved in superb condition since its original acquisition in the 1990s by a single family.
Garrard & Co., appointed as the first official Crown Jeweler by Queen Victoria in 1843, is legendary for crafting Britain’s most iconic regalia, including the Imperial State Crown and the Imperial Crown of India.
