Gardens for the Soul Hardcover Table Book Pamela Woods Feng Shui Gardens
By Rizoli International Publications
Located in North Hollywood, CA
Gardens for the Soul Hardcover Table Book.
Large coffee table book by Pamela Woods
Rizoli International, 2002 - 1st Edition.
Feng shui gardens - 160 pages
Pamela Woods' approach to garden design teaches you how to create a garden that reflects your spiritual beliefs and inner emotions. She invokes the power and beauty of ancient symbols such as Celtic wheels and spirals with Eastern practices such as feng shui to create gardens that are relaxing, meditative and, above all, beautiful. This book contains discussions about what makes a garden spiritual and how to analyse and channel energies in the garden. It also looks at ancient symbols and systems, such as the Tree of Life, the Medicine Wheel, spirals and labyrinths, and shows how to incorporate them into your own outdoor space
Gardens for the Soul shows how a sustainable and eco-friendly ethos can be at the heart of creating a beautiful garden, whatever its location or size.

Columbia, built by the Herreshoff Company, Rhode Island, was a legendary yacht, one of a tiny number of vessels to successfully defend the America’s Cup. Her first victory was in 1899 and her second victory against Independence on 1st August 1901, commemorated by this trophy, is viewed as an unofficial trial for the forthcoming race which she also won. The owner of Independence, Thomas W. Lawson, desperate to beat his rival, reputedly made the extraordinary offer of $100,000 to his crew in the event of their beating Columbia and securing their own chance to race in the America’s Cup. The race was organised by the Newport Yacht Racing Association and Columbia began as favourite. The race started two hours later than expected due to a lack of wind and Columbia quickly established a considerable lead. She won by as much as a mile.
