Bronze Face of Christ Wall Plaque Sculpture with The Best Ever Closed Eyes

Stunningly tranquil and meaningful work of religious art. With works of religious art being one of our specialties, over the decades we have sold quite a few special antiques in this field. However, when it comes to calm (or tranquil) facial expressions of Christ, this wall sculpture is right up there with the best. Please notice how particularly the eyes, but also the facial features below the eyes reveil the peaceful state of being that is behind the exterior of this Christ. It takes a special artisan to create such a marvelous image of Jesus. There is a number in the back, but we have not found a signature of the highly skilled artist whom created this bronze plaque. This happens more often with works of religious art, because most artists who created this type of art realized that their skills were god given talents and signing a piece, to them, would be a sign of too much ego. Apart from some truly minor and superficial denting to the tip of the nose this Jesus Christ sculpture is in superb condition. Its amazing patina makes the depth and details of this beautiful face of Christ stand out even more. The facial hair, the subtle and perfect neck (or throat) area and the stylized beaming halo are some other perfect elements that will keep drawing your attention to this rare and stunning wall sculpture.
