Antique Late 1800s Gothic Revival Gilt Bronze Church Candle Chandelier / Pendant
About the Item
Good size and all handcrafted antique bronze chandelier with brass chains.
Finding good quality and great looking Gothic antiques in their original condition always lifts our spirits. This Gothic candle chandelier too fits that bill and its good size, marvelous design and warm golden patina makes it an absolute joy to own and look at. Several highly skilled craftsman in the late 1800s spent a lot of their time, skills and energy into hand-crafting this ecclesiastical work of beauty. Both the hexagonal bronze body with its stunning Gothic decorations and the rare brass chains are gilt and the time worn gilding has given this antique its unique and ancient Gothic character. Inlaid in the bronze rosettes on the bottom of the vessel are (what we think are) purple glass stones (best seen in image five). Prior to shooting the photos we forgot to put the chains together more neatly, which is why some of them look a little off. Thanks to the original bronze hook inside the bronze canopy, mounting this striking and atmospheric chandelier is child's play.
