About the Item

This early wall-mounted coin operated jukebox tune selector is completely unmarked, but being attributed to the Seeburg Corporation of the United States in circa 1955 in the period Machine-Age style. Seeburg did a 'Wall-O-Matic" product line that resemble this one almost identically. The outer case is done in a cast aluminum with protruding fins on either side of the playlist and has a coin drop mechanism at the top and selector buttons at the bottom. The pages can be turned from the top and the user would drop a nickel into the top and press the corresponding letter and number for the desired song and the central jukebox in the establishment would play the tune. These wall-mounted jukebox song selectors were made by several companies and were quite common in diners and ice cream shops and found mounted against the wall in each booth and/or mounted to the soda counter. This example is early as it plays only one song for a nickel whereas later machines took dimes and quarters and could program multiple songs. There is no key, so the condition of the inner workings are unknown, but are known to be well built. These units can be wired to an existing jukebox, used for a decorative element or updated with the latest sound technology.
