A set of four copper and brass CHEKPUMP imperial fuel standard measures, by Gaskell & Chambers, dated 1931 made for the County Borough of Wallasey. Three gallon, Two gallon, One gallon & Half gallon. Marked: GASKELL & CHAMBERS Ltd. MAKERS. DALE END WORKS BIRMINGHAM Serial number: 252. In original fitted oak case, with rope handles, with brass escutcheon, dated 1930, with corresponding serial number and markers mark. Gaskell and Chambers of Coleshill Street, Birmingham, established in 1797.
