1941 Trophy Baseball Radio, Working Condition

About the Item

This fantastic novelty item is reminiscent of a time when radio was king and radio broadcasts were the most popular way for fans to follow Major League Baseball across the country. Eight-inch in diameter baseball-shaped radio is constructed of heavy gauge cardboard wrapped in paper application designed to replicate a baseball with black and red seams and labeling reading: "Official League Ball" and "Cushion Cork Center." A "Trophy" brand radio metal plated logo medallion is adhered to one of the three 2" in diameter mesh ventilated speakers above "N0. AA Selected Quality Genuine Horsehide" labeling with an on/off switch and volume control knob on the ball's right side and radio-station changing knob on the left. The ball is mounted on circular acrylic base from which an electrical power cord and antenna are protruding. Radio is in good condition visually and it plays well working in AM only. This is the perfect accessory for any enthusiasts game room or "man cave."
