Marquetry Balance Board
About the Item
Each w o o d p o p balance board is meticulously handcrafted in our Black Mountains workshop in the UK. Doubling up as an integral part of any fitness regime - and a unique standalone artwork.
Each board features a unique marquetry design incorporating both natural and dyed veneers and the built-in stops serve as perfect hangers for the wall.
Regular balance training will strengthen your core and your lower leg muscles, improve your posture and coordination and is really effective for injury prevention - especially the ankles. The boards are finished in an acrylic lacquer and we can also offer a more grippy finish if wanted. Please get in touch for details.
The roller is made from Birch ply with cork grip tape.

Woodpop
Emma Wood founded the w o o d p o p studio in Wales' Black Mountains which specialises in marquetry and inlay work. Since it's inception 10 years ago, the studio has gained a reputation for pairing the classic art-form of marquetry with contemporary subject matter and its application on to non-traditional surfaces. The studio prides itself on constantly challenging the limits of where and how marquetry can be applied and to that end they are the first designers to have ever successfully applied a full-scale marquetry artwork to fully-functioning wooden surfboards. In addition to this latest series of surfboards, w o o d p o p also creates bespoke wall art, custom furniture and site specific commissions.
