Rare Austrian Art Deco Cold Painted Spelter Polo Player Table Striker Lighter

This rare Austrian Art Deco figural table lighter is in cold painted spelter (zinc alloy) and takes the form of a mounted polo player. The rider's polo mallet can be withdrawn from the pommel of the rider's saddle to reveal the striker wand and the striker strip channel is at the rear of the base. This piece is unsigned but has long been attributed to Joseph Lorenzl and it certainly bears all the characteristics of his work. It is in good vintage condition overall, with some loss to finish as can be seen in the photos but still retains its original red baize to the underside of the base.
