Set of three Vintage Chamois Trophies on Wooden Plaques, Germany ca. 1970s A set of three vintage Black Forest chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra) trophies on wooden plaques with brown finish. Handwritten inscription on the back of the plaques featuring date and place of the hunt. Germany 1970s. Measures: Width: 4.53" (11.5 cm) Height: 9.84" (25 cm) Depth: 8.66" (22 cm) Trophies are mementos from the hunted game, which are kept by the huntsmen as a souvenir or decorative item. For many centuries it was a tradition to collect trophies. Nowadays exactly these are becoming more and more popular as decorative highlights in hunting lodges. This article contains parts of animal origin, which belong to non-endangered and non-threatened animals and follow the US Fish & Wildlife regulations. They are not listed on CITES Appendix I and II.
