Luxury set by ST DUPONT comprising 3 lighters, 1 fountain pen, 1 ballpoint pen, and a table clock from the Dupont "Medici" line in platinum produced as a limited edition.
This limited edition is called "Medici" for its characteristic design reminiscent of Florentine architecture. From the Middle Ages to the modern times, the Italian Renaissance has been one of the most important factors in the development of Western civilisation.
As the artistic centre of the Renaissance, Florence in Tuscany is home to some of the finest examples of Italian art, such as the dome of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore built between 1420 and 1436.
S.T. Dupont pays tribute to this key building of the Italian Renaissance and has designed a collection of architectural objects with rich and sophisticated decorations that combine meticulous metalwork with expertly crafted lacquer.
The St. Dupont "Medici" lighter is a work of art. The ignition rotor is cylindrical, smooth as a marble column, and aesthetically perfect. It combines the purity of design with an extremely reliable mechanism. The shiny platinum finish allows these works to withstand the signs of ageing without losing their lustre. In case of a fall, the particular plating process allows the finish not to chip but only to dent.
St. Dupont is a French company specialising in the creation and manufacture of luxury personal items, lighters, fountain pens, ballpoint pens, leather goods, luggage, ready-to-wear, perfumes, and luxury accessories.
The limited edition 2005 Dupont "Medici" lighters are numbered starting from 3420, being a reference to the year 1420, the date when the construction of this magnificent cathedral began.
The new value of the limited edition table clock, limited to 420 copies, is €4490 for the clock alone.
The whole set is presented in its 6-piece box with all the papers and the outer sleeve. Each piece is in excellent, new condition. There might be some wear on the corners of the exterior box as well as on the inner tray.
