Vintage modernist mid-century glass ashtray ruby red triangular.
Mid-century glass ashtray circa 1960's - 1970's USA.
Large and stunningly beautiful art glass ashtray by Viking in their beautiful ruby red color.
Back when people still smoked everywhere, the American glass manufactures were churning out ashtrays as fast as they could make them. Viking glass company was no exception, and they made some wonderfully beautiful "Smoker's items" as they were called in their catalogs.
This ashtray was introduced in 1968 and is seen here in Viking's amazing red color, which has a lot of variance across their pieces.
The ashtray is in terrific vintage condition.
There are some very slight surface scratches that are visible under close examination.
