"Santa and Reindeer" Still Bank, American, circa 1980s
By Charles C. Reynolds
Located in Incline Village, NV
Made of heavy cast aluminum and hand painted, this sturdy, finely detailed still bank depicts an oversized Santa Claus standing next to one of his reindeer. Santa is brightly painted in red and white, with an orange lit lantern, and realistic flesh tones; while the reindeer is brown with bone colored antlers. Santa is waving, while leaning against his reindeer. Coins are deposited in the slot provided directly behind Santa on top of the reindeer's back. Coins are removed by undoing the bank and turning the slotted screw on the side of the deer (although I don't recommend it because the screw has never been turned since it has never been used). This American made toy savings bank was made in the 1980s by the Reynolds Toy Company of Falls Church, Virginia. They specialized in the manufacture of well made cast metal penny banks. You will not see them all over the place as only a limited number of examples were produced (less than 100----this is number "22" stamped on the hindquarter of the deer. The number "86" on the back of Santa probably references the total number made; so, this is number 22 of 86 manufactured in the 1980s (see image). The bank is in mint condition.

"Santa in A Race Car" Still Bank American, circa 1987
By Reynolds Toys
Located in Incline Village, NV
This finely detailed hand painted, heavy cast aluminum still bank depicts a whimsical Santa Claus running around in a brightly painted green race car delivering toys. Santa is in red and white; gold painted circular vents and radiator decorate the hood. Coins are deposited in the slot provided in the center of the front hood (see image). Coins are removed by undoing the slotted screw that holds the bank together on the side next to the door. This screw has never been turned and the bank has never been taken apart to remove coins.
This American made toy savings bank was made in 1987 (see image with embossed marking on the inside of the tire) by the Reynolds Toy Company of Falls Church, Virginia. They specialized in the manufacture of well made cast iron penny banks. You will not see them all over the place as only 100 examples were produced. This example is stamped #98 (see image). The bank is in mint condition.
Dimensions: 5" long x 2" wide x 3" high
Other embossed markings "Reynolds" and "USA" are seen on the inside of the tires (see images).
This is from my own personal collection.
