Important Linocut Print and Unique Biographical Documents for Eduard Ulreich
About the Item
Both a unique work of art and an extraordinary historical document, this print and group of documents were created by Eduard Buk Ulreich, best known as a muralist for Radio City Music Hall, the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago, the Methodist Temple in Chicago, and Woodside Library on Long Island. Prepared to document and publicize his career later in life, Buk brought together lists of his public commissions, his art prizes, and his exhibitions, and made a special print to serve as the cover for these documents. An original, six-page typescript document lists many of his patrons (including the Brooklyn Museum and San Diego Museum), and positive criticism from the New York Times, The Brooklyn Eagle and the Chicago Tribune, among many others. In addition, this grouping includes a photocopied biography and other material
