Art Deco Crackle Ceramic Elephant Sculpture Bookends by Le Moine, France 1930s
About the Item
This superb Art Deco pair of crackled ceramic bookends was designed and crafted by Le Moine, France, in the 1930s. The off-white colored crackle glaze ceramic or faience sculpture features a pair of elephants with contrasted black enameled glaze application. The bookends are marked "Le Moine" on the base of each piece. There is also a mark reading "VF" on the underside, likely the manufacturer's hallmark.
The bookends are in good condition, with a tiny miss of black glaze on one bookend, but it does not significantly affect the overall appearance. Check the close-up.
Measurements for one bookend: 4.75 in wide (12 cm) x 4.32 in deep (11 cm) x 6.69 in high (17 cm).
