A pair of Art Deco wrought iron bookends are in the shape of a stylized wing and ball on an angular support mounted on a rectangular base.
These bookends were designed to commemorate the first non-stop east to west crossing of the North Atlantic by plane, which took place on September 1-2, 1930 when Costes & Maurice Bellonte, flew with the Point d'Interrogation from Paris to New York.
