‘Encyclopedie des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes’ (Encyclopedia of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in the twentieth century) complete set of 12 original books, the first edition of 1925. Printed by French Government Printing Office on Arches Vellum paper, 12 vol. in-4, binding to corners by the publisher, more than 1200 boards intaglio printing, some in color, text in French. Most rare this has all the original covers/ bindings in excellent condition that has been protected in plastic covers. These books are an essential reference for anyone interested in modern decorative and industrial arts. The complete set of 12 original books, first published in 1925, provides a comprehensive overview of the development of these arts throughout the twentieth century. One of the key features of the "Encyclopedie" is its focus on the integration of art and industry. This was a central theme of the modernist movement, and the "Encyclopedie" captures this idea in its coverage of everything from furniture design and textiles to graphic design and typography. By highlighting the relationship between art and industry, the "Encyclopedie" played an important role in shaping the development of modern design and architecture. One copy of this edition is in The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Anything you want to know about Art Deco is in these books. Each volume is about a different aspect of life and culture.
