Fine antique pair of table globes by Cary of London, each having a vertical brass engraved meridian ring held perpendicular to a horizontal wooden ring applies with zodiac scales, the terrestrial globe labeled “Cary’s New Terrestrial Globe Delineated From the best Authorities exhibiting the late Discoveries of the North Pole and every improvement in Geography to the present time. Made & Sold by G. & J. Cary, 86, St. James’s Street, London, March 15, 1811” The celestial labeled “CARY’S NEW CELESTIAL GLOBE ON WHICH are correctly laid down upwards of 3500 stars Selected from the most accurate observations and calculated for the Year 1800, with the extant of each constellation precisely defined by J. Gilpin of the Royal Society, Made and sold by J. & W. Cary, Strand, January 11, 1816.
