About

An early 20th century French glass globe newel post finial or boule d'escalier. These wonderful finials were used as decorative elements at the bottom of a staircase on the newel post. This one is made of two layers of cased glass with the cobalt glass surface cut back creating a map of the world. Brass hardware base.
