Victorian Walnut Library Step
About the Item
Elegant Victorian walnut fold out library step. The compact way of getting to those hard to reach books or objects on the highest shelf. Circa 1880-1900. When closed it could function as a high chair, stool or even a small shelf and when the lower portion is extended, it becomes a functioning step ladder.
Good overall condition. Structurally sound and sturdy construction. Wear consistent with age and use. Loss of old finish, some light rusting of iron hardware. Minor tight split (see photo). Minor bumps, bruises, scratches and scuffs.
