19th Century French Fireplace Screen

About the Item

Used during warmer months to cover the opening of a fireplace, this rare, 19th Century French fireplace screen retains its antique original fabric. The design is identical on both sides. Screen panel pulls out of wooden frame using two small knobs, revealing lovely gimp detail along the top edge. The depth of the frame measures 1.625", while the base measures 13". In good vintage condition, this special piece exudes immense charm and elegance.
