Antique 19th Century Embossed Leather & Faux Leather Four Fold Screen

About the Item

An antique leather embossed and hand painted four fold screen. Circa 1880. With antique gold/rich umber tones and forest green in colour, it is decorated with mythological birds and classically embossed with hand painted floral decoration. Probably continental in origin. The original faux leather at the back of the screen has been replaced with a similar faux leather, and aged to effect. The three leather vertical strips that are in between the panels to the front have also been replaced and aged. Two small tears have been repaired, as shown in the last two photographs. These are only noticeable under close inspection. * Free delivery for all areas in MAINLAND England & Wales only. Delivery to room of choice (with good access) by a two person team.     Repaired: Two small tears have been repaired, as shown in the last two photographs. These are only noticeable under close inspection. Replacements made: The original faux leather at the back of the screen has been replaced with a similar faux leather, and aged to effect. The three leather vertical strips that are in between the panels to the front have also been replaced and aged. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses.
