Post-Modern Double Sided Folding Screen Attributed to Maitland Smith, c 1980s

About the Item

This stylish circa 1980s Post-Modern double sided screen attributed to Maitland Smith features beautiful colors of pinks, blues and grays amongst patterns of floral, clouds and other shaped on one side, and on the other side green purple and white over a black background, all resting on brass capped feet. We have not seen this particular motif listed in any Maitland Smith catalogue however the construction details match that of other Maitland Smith screens. This screen was acquired from a home filled with other 1980s Post-Modern designs, based on this and construction details we believe the screen to be made around circa 1980s. This double sided Post-Modern decorative folding screen would work great in a Post-Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. MEASUREMENTS: H 84" x W 64" x D 1" CONDITION: Good vintage condition with light wear and patina. The side with blues/pinks has very little wear, some light scratches, scuffs and nicks mostly only noticeable upon close inspection. The black background side has more noticeable wear concentrated towards the edges where the screen folds. Overall very attractive and presentable, ready for immediate use or can also be touched up upon request.
